I hadn’t imagined that finding perfect baby cot sheets would be this difficult.
A crib or a baby cot is a good investment for any young family. Before our charming human arrived in our world, we were busy shopping and organising all that we could to make him feel cosy, comfortable, welcomed and loved. So, purchasing a baby cot was definitely on our list. But it wasn’t as simple as we thought it would be to finalise a baby cot and bring it home!
First stop – baby cot
We live in an apartment in Ireland, the bedrooms here aren’t very spacious as the weather obliges cosy spaces you see. Therefore, between all other stuff in the room (chest of drawers, changing mat, small stool and so on), we have confined space to fit a baby cot.
Two cots we shortlisted were the Ikea ones, which look excellent and sturdy. Going by the size of the baby cot, we chose the 60×120 cm. Now is when all the obstacles with cot sheets began!
Now my baby needed cot sheets!
Although Ikea sells this cot size, they don’t offer any cot sheets except the basic plain white ones. Who would be happy to make their baby sleep every night on bland-looking white sheets? I definitely won’t. I wanted lovely miniature prints, delightful colours on his cot sheets. So the hunt for adorable looking and great quality cot sheets started. I was looking for eco-friendly fabric, organic cotton or similar. They have to provide comfort, warmth, and a feeling of safety for the little one.
I looked around online for baby cot sheets, and some options popped up on Amazon for cot size 60x120cm, but none were very intriguing. Either the fabric didn’t match the requirements, the prints or colours were too loud. There’s just this one option I found which is reviewed to be good and looks pretty. But the problem was that it states ‘hand wash only’ and that didn’t suit. Then I went searching on Instagram and back on Google.
This is where I found perfect baby cot sheets
So by now, I was being targeted by ads by a few brands that sell cot sheets and baby-related products. And this is how I found the perfect match for my baby’s cot – at La Redoute.
La Redoute offers beautiful fitted sheets and flat sheets for cot size 60×120 cm and almost every other baby cot size (there’s a filter to select the cot size we’re searching for). I found organic cotton fitted sheets in the most pleasing colours and prints. Because I was shopping on La Redoute’s website for the first time, I kept my shopping cart limited to only a few fitted sheets, a number that qualified for free delivery as well.
After the crib sheets have arrived and I’ve been using them regularly for the little boy’s cot, I’m so having with them that I can’t recommend them enough. When you check their website once, you will continue going back to the La Redoute website for your entire home’s bedding linens because they are incredible.
