Travel teaches life lessons.

When my parents took us on holidays and taught us to taste the local food, speak the local language, respect the lifestyle of people living there and be prepared for the destination quizzes, little did I know that they were making me a hassle-free traveller? Someone who lets them also enjoy their holiday! But their plan was more thoughtful and I took my growing-up years to understand them. All that I learned from travelling, make me the person I’m.

My name is Shubha and I’m an Indian living in Ireland with my husband. In 2015 I moved to Dublin with a suitcase half-filled with (of course) flavours of Indian spices and with knowledge of Yoga. And I am filling the other half of my suitcase with travel stories in Europe and lots of local food. The traveller in me is always alive. Though I am living in Dublin for a few years now, I haven’t stopped looking around with the curiosity of knowing and enjoying this newness. When I am not travelling or not sipping coffee in a local cafe, I’m teaching yoga.

Walk on Sunshine is the blog on Travel and Food experiences. Travelling and eating good food have been my mantra for happiness, always. Gazing at landscapes, meeting people from different parts of the world, beautiful languages, traditional food, celebrations, climate, lifestyle are all ways for me to indulge in a Culture trip. Here, on this blog, I’ll unbox tales from my travel diary (pocket-size notepads that have accompanied me on numerous journeys so far). So, while I do that and learn plenty from my encounters, I will be sharing those interesting stories with you. Hope you enjoy them and if it inspires you in planning your next trip, I’ll be glad to have helped.
